Chicago Tribune writer Andy Downing says, "The 'American Idol' champ, decked out in a sparkling mini-dress that could have been lifted from Beyonce's 'Dreamgirls' wardrobe, worked through a host of soulful originals, including the funky 'Bore Me (Yawn)' and a slow-burning, steamy 'I Nominate U.'" Ex-Idol Redefines Herself - The new CD delivers a much larger serving of uptempo tracks - including "Hood Boy," "Baby Makin' Hips" and "Not The Way That I Do" - that truly spark and slam. Fantasia a Hit at Aretha Franklin Tribute - LA Daily News says, "But it was Fantasia Barrino, an 'American Idol' winner from a few years ago and the subject of a much-watched 'Lifetime' network biopic, who tore the roof off the elegant Hollywood & Highland venue in two jaw-dropping performances." The United Negro College Fund's annual TV special "An Evening of Stars" will air in January. The Fantasia Barrino Story Scores - The two-hour biopic, based on Fantasia's book, "Life is Not a Fairy Tale," was the most viewed basic cable program of the week, averaging 6.65 viewer on August 19, 2006, and is Lifetime's second highest viewed movie in it's history. |
